AIChE Leadership Sets the Standard with 100% Giving

Ahead of the 2025 AIChE Annual Meeting, both the AIChE Foundation Board of Trustees and the AIChE Board of Directors achieved 100% leadership giving — only the second time this milestone has been reached. Each of the 18 Board of Directors members and 17 Board of Trustees members made AIChE and its Foundation a priority for their charitable giving, and their contributions of time, talent and treasure underscore a dedication to our shared mission.

Our accomplishment is truly a shared success! Joseph was a phenomenal philanthropic partner using all opportunities to highlight across the Institute how we are doing a world of good and challenged the Board of Directors to reach 100% earlier than ever! - Jennifer S. Curtis

This was a focused effort spearheaded by Jennifer Sinclair Curtis, Chair – AIChE Foundation Board of Trustees and Joseph Smith, President – AIChE who thoughtfully and consistently engaged the two boards throughout the year.

Jennifer Sinclair Curtis commented, “Our accomplishment is truly a shared success! Joseph was a phenomenal philanthropic partner using all opportunities to highlight across the Institute how we are doing a world of good and challenged the Board of Directors to reach 100% earlier than ever!”

Stories of impact, whether in person, via Zoom or on social media showcased how contributions to the Foundation change lives and careers. “Being able to share with the AIChE volunteer leadership how the Bee a ChemE K-12 STEM Ambassador program changed both the elementary school students’ understanding of chemical engineering and how I approach my classes was a huge moment. I am a role model for the next generation,” said Pranav Udhaya, University of Houston student.

“Hearing firsthand from students, early career professionals and awardees makes it real,” said Joseph Smith. “It helps to remind us how we were helped earlier in our personal and professional journeys and that we are each modeling giving for those who follow.”

Being a passionate leader means making the cause personal. As we close 2025, we know that with the support of President-Elect Anne O’Neal and Incoming Chair Mike Graff, we now look forward to achieving this goal earlier and consistently.

We encourage our fellow members to join us with a gift to the AIChE Foundation and participate in celebrating 10 Years of Doing a World of Good. When we connect passion to philanthropy, we will create impact.
