Celebrating PRIDE and Allyship Matching Challenge Raised over $11,000

AIChE® is committed to fostering an equitable, diverse, and inclusive profession.
Programs like the LGBTQ+ & Allies Initiative aims to increase inclusion, participation, and progress of all gender and sexual minorities within the chemical engineering profession. This online community enables LGBTQ+ & Ally engineers to network, share resources and best practices.
To expand this program, in October the AIChE Foundation’s LGBTQ+ & Allies Initiative Endowment steering committee collectively underwrote a $10,000 matching gift challenge, Celebrating PRIDE and Allyship in honor of LGBTQ+ History Month. Thanks to the generous support of our Founding Donors community, we are pleased to share with the match over $11,000 was raised, exceeding our goal to support the endowment. All gifts will fund Safe Zone Ally trainings, programming at AIChE conferences and networking opportunities to strengthen the community and profession.

In 2017, Eric Reiner helped to launch the LGBTQ+ & Allies Endowment with a leadership gift.

Since then, more than 100 individual donors and Air Products joined to propel the endowment to $130K+ providing support to the AIChE LGBTQ+ Community.
