This year marks the 10th Anniversary of Doing a World of Good—and also the 10th anniversary of AIChE renaming the AIChE Cumulative Giving Society to the “John J. McKetta, Jr. AIChE Lifetime Giving Society” in honor of John’s 100th birthday in 2015.

For his 100th birthday celebration, colleagues reflected on Dr. McKetta’s extraordinary impact on both the profession and the Institute. Scott D. Love, Diamond McKetta member, noted: “Your leadership has been an essential part of our success. Your living example of giving back to the profession has motivated many others to do the same.” Similarly, the late Stanley Proctor, Platinum McKetta member and a founder of the Legacy Society, shared: “Your contributions to AIChE and the chemical engineering profession are countless. I consider it a special privilege to be associated with you and to have served as AIChE president in your shadow.”
In honor of 10 years for both of these historic milestones, the AIChE Foundation proudly recognizes the new and newly elevated members of the McKetta Giving Society. These members embody the very ideals John McKetta championed—generosity, leadership, and commitment to the profession—and their philanthropy today ensures his enduring legacy will continue to inspire future generations.
As part of this month’s celebration, the new and elevated McKetta Society members were proudly featured in signage at the AIChE Annual Meeting in Boston and acknowledged in the November issue of CEP— a fitting tribute to the leaders helping advance the profession and enrich the chemical engineering community.
